What's up Sneakerheads?!? This Monday January 19th, Sneakerbred hit 10,000 page visits. That statistic is amazing to me. When I started this site it was just a small project but to see that people are actually finding my articles useful is just awesome. I know the site has seen some slow points and I apologize for that but I would like to explain that the bigger this gets the more attention I will give it. I have let the site fall to the way side the past few months because I was traveling Europe and I was just insanely busy. Now I'm back in Cleveland at school and I'm ready to start contributing to the site more regularly. Anyways, thank you guys so much for all your support! I'm very excited to get back into the swing of things and hopefully site traffic will start to pick back up once my posts start coming regularly again. If you're reading this sneakers are probably a huge part of your life just like they are in mine. A lot of beginners new to the world of sneakers make one big mistake, and that is thinking that the sneakers alone are enough. This is a huge misconception because although certain sneakers are dope, there are certain things that can make them look even better ie: shirts, shorts, pants, necklaces, wrist wear etc. Socks are not to be forgotten from that list! When people pass you sure they'll be looking at your shoes because knowing you guys you'll be rocking some serious heat. However while their attention is drawn to your shoes why not give them something great to look at? Any pair of sneakers can be given that added touch to make them look down right TOUGH.
Along your sneakerhead journey you'll probably learn that other people will have the same shoes as you, so why not stand out by having a pair of socks that no one else has? Socks can be expensive when you're talking about crew socks. Depending on who's selling them they can range from $12.99- 39.99 USD. The latter of the prices are strictly for custom websites, but sometimes that 39.99 is nothing when you see some of the stuff out there, it's awesome. Nike generally sells their elites around 12.99 or 14.99 depending on the style, and I strongly recommend them, they are very comfortable and look great. Then there are also stance socks which in my personal opinion top Nike Elites in comfort and style. They have a player exclusive line with pictures of hall of famers on them like John Stockton and Karl Malone for example. However they also offer socks of basically all designs. Here are a few pictures of my socks and you can see for yourselves that it's a pretty diverse set. (Note: these are not even close to all of my socks just the pairs I brought along with me to Italy for a few months)

Release Date: Tomorrow October 18th, 2014 @8:00 a.m. EST
Retail Price: $250.00 USD
The Nike Foamposite is one of my more favored sneaker designs. The only negative about them for me usually, is the retail price. They retail anywhere from $225-275 and in my opinion unless it's Christmas that is just too much money to spend on a pair of sneakers unless they're your absolute favorite. Now, keep in mind I am a just turned 19 sophomore in college so money for me is an issue. I'm not in the NBA, I'm not Macklemore, I don't rap, and I'm not a millionaire. Therefore I have to pick and choose which shoes I cop. The pair of light brown or "wheat" foams as they're called pictured above are a pair of sneakers I really like. If you're familiar with Timberland boots (which most people are) they look a whole lot like them, except they're sneakers. I love the look of them especially the one pictured with the plain grey jogger sweats. So, if you haven't noticed a theme on this website let me make it clear, I'm about ballin' on a budget. So, although I love these foams with an all wheat upper and a nice gummy outsole, I unfortunately have to pass on them. For those of you less frustrated about money, I wish you all the best tomorrow morning, peace.
Matching is a pretty basic concept. When it comes to sneakerheads and their outfits, it all starts at the feet. At the start of each morning a sneakerhead selects his "KOTD" or kicks of the day, a term coined by Kicksonfire.com. Whether you're just running errands, or going out with friends the kicks of the day are crucial. These shoes more often than not determine the rest of the outifit. Let's take a look at the Puma First Rounds I posted yesterday. They are a green shoe, modeled after the popular Sprite beverage. Therefore, an outfit with a similar theme would probably be best. Given that it's summer, let's keep it simple and cool. On a hot summer day I like to wear as little clothing as possible as keeping cool is an utmost priority. So, we've selected our shoes in the Puma First Rounds, now let's grab something to wear. I've selected a green Nike Dri-Fit tee shirt, white on white Jordan shorts, forest green Nike Elite socks, and my coveted Seattle Supersonics hat. To go that extra mile, I added my pair of light green Beats by Dre Pros. It's a simple athletic outfit perfect for a hot summer day. A great outfit to complement a great pair of kicks!
