Love Derrick Rose, but I hate Adidas products. So, I am a huge Bulls fan and it just so happens Derrick Rose is my favorite player. So, a little information about Derrick if you didn't know already: he won the 2011 MVP award as a 23 year old. He is arguably the most explosive point guard of our time, and has the quickness of a track sprinter. Anyways, he has always been sponsored by Adidas which is my least favorite part of being a D-Rose fan. If you didn't know Adidas products are associated with tons of brutal injuries, RG3's ACL, D-Rose's ACL, and Kevin Ware's tragic Bone fracture. Adidas does not have the greatest rap sheet and in my opinion their product designs aren't even that great. However, I do own tons of NBA jerseys because I collect jerseys and they're a huge part of my closet. (Adidas sponsors the NBA) Now, on to the shoes at hand. The D-Rose 5s are one of the better Adidas shoes released in recent years. They are lightweight to match the play style of Derrick Rose and they offer good breathability. They come in pretty basic colorways like the ones pictured above. I think $160.00 is far too expensive for a shoe with this little material, but hey times are changing. I like the red upper and the blue laces I think that's a cool combo but the black and white mid and outsole is pretty basic. For me the only Adidas shoes I have ever owned were the 2011 Adizeros. I only bought them because it was 2012, they were only $60.00 and I wore them to varsity practice. Adidas is good at making lightweight shoes but they need to focus more on durability and safety of the athlete. For me until they make those changes I would steer clear of Adidas sneakers, sorry D. Rose, I still love you.
If you're reading this sneakers are probably a huge part of your life just like they are in mine. A lot of beginners new to the world of sneakers make one big mistake, and that is thinking that the sneakers alone are enough. This is a huge misconception because although certain sneakers are dope, there are certain things that can make them look even better ie: shirts, shorts, pants, necklaces, wrist wear etc. Socks are not to be forgotten from that list! When people pass you sure they'll be looking at your shoes because knowing you guys you'll be rocking some serious heat. However while their attention is drawn to your shoes why not give them something great to look at? Any pair of sneakers can be given that added touch to make them look down right TOUGH.
Along your sneakerhead journey you'll probably learn that other people will have the same shoes as you, so why not stand out by having a pair of socks that no one else has? Socks can be expensive when you're talking about crew socks. Depending on who's selling them they can range from $12.99- 39.99 USD. The latter of the prices are strictly for custom websites, but sometimes that 39.99 is nothing when you see some of the stuff out there, it's awesome. Nike generally sells their elites around 12.99 or 14.99 depending on the style, and I strongly recommend them, they are very comfortable and look great. Then there are also stance socks which in my personal opinion top Nike Elites in comfort and style. They have a player exclusive line with pictures of hall of famers on them like John Stockton and Karl Malone for example. However they also offer socks of basically all designs. Here are a few pictures of my socks and you can see for yourselves that it's a pretty diverse set. (Note: these are not even close to all of my socks just the pairs I brought along with me to Italy for a few months)
For those of you who follow the NBA, the Chicago Bulls released Carlos Boozer using the amnesty policy today. That means the Bulls will have some more cap space to make additional moves. It's good moving towards the 2014-2015 season especially with the Bulls courting Pau Gasol of the Lakers. I'm not a fan of the move to acquire Gasol, but we'll see where it takes them. To summarize, look out for the Bulls in this market, and next season!

The Air Jordan 8 is not one of the most popular retro models but it is however one of the most memorable. I say it is memorable because it was worn by MJ in the 1993 playoffs when he led the Chicago Bulls to their first 3-peat. It was a great season for the Bulls, however MJ actually lost the MVP award to Charles Barkley whom he would meet in the NBA finals. Barkley led the Phoenix Suns and Jordan led his Bulls. Michael was pictured wearing the OG color way retro 8s when he went off for 55 points in game 4 of the 93 finals. The retro 8 features two velcro straps arose the laces for a very snug fit. The Retro 8 is also one of the more structurally sound sneakers in my opinion. It has a high heel for ankle support, an ankle insert in the heel which makes them oh so comfortable, and like I said the lace straps provide for nice secure fit. It's no surprise to me that Jordan was able to score 55 points in them. Not to mention the detail on the inside of the shoe shows accents of red blue and yellow which really adds a nice splash of color to a mostly black sneaker. I personally rank the retro 8 very high on the list for both performance, and comfort. Drop a comment to let me know what your favorite basketball team is! (I'm a Bulls fan if you're new here) Have a great day and check back in tomorrow!

As we all know Lebron James is returning to Cleveland for the 2014-2015 NBA season. Shortly after that news was announced the Miami Heat made a huge move in re-signing Forward/ Center Chris Bosh. They gave him a max contract of 5 years 118 million dollars. A lot of people including myself and Stephen A. Smith of ESPN feel that he was way over paid. That being said even with Chris Bosh coming back to Miami there's still the matter of replacing Lebron James. The Heat had already picked up Danny Granger a very good offensive forward who has had some injury problems as of late. To me, this means that the Miami Heat are planning on starting Chris Bosh at the center position. I say this because a few hours ago forward from Cleveland, Luol Deng, was picked up by the Heat for 2 years 20.1 million dollars. Deng, known for his defensive skills and being one of the best defensive weapons against Lebron James, is now being called upon to fill the shoes of King James. This move is obviously a step in the right direction for the Heat; Luol Deng knows how to score the basketball with a career ppg of 16.0. I also feel that the Heat will get their money's worth out of Deng a lengthy player who's great at both ends of the floor. The Heat's future was looking dim a day or two ago but with this acquisition of Deng, and maybe a few more key moves, their playoff chances in 2014-2015 may gain some more credibility. I look forward to seeing how the Heat react to a Lebronless game style, and I'm very interested to see where they end up when April arrives. Leave a comment saying where you think the Heat will end up going into the 2015 postseason, or if you think they'll bottom out.
Pau Gasol has just decided to sign with the Chicago Bulls. I have never personally been a fan of Pau Gasol, but being a Bulls fan I guess I have to make due. He is a talented player who has lacked defensive prowess in the past, so maybe Thibodeau can teach him some of our grittiness. I look forward to see in how this pans out however, I am still very skeptical. I would have loved to see one of the best scorers in Carmelo Anthony sign with us, but apparently that ship has sailed. Check back in for details on Pau's contract!

Breaking News: Lebron James has signed 2 year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers totaling at 42.1 million dollars! Although it is only a two year contract and this may scare some Cavs fans, fret no longer! Lebron James may have only signed for 2 years but it's because he wants the Cavs to be able to add more pieces to their puzzle. In order for the Cavaliers to contend Lebron knows they still need work, and in order to do that they'll need help. He is simply making a decision in the best interest of the franchise for the long haul. The King plans to re-sign with the Cavs again in 2016 and he predicts a very strong free agency market! Let's look forward to many years of King James in a Cavaliers jersey once again. Drop a comment to let me know who you think the team to beat will be in the 2014-2015 season!
In case you haven't read my previous article, or maybe you just live under a rock......LEBRON IS BACK IN CLEVELAND! What better way to celebrate then by wearing a pair of Lebron's signature shoe today. I received my package from Nike last night. The package I received contained the Nike Lebron 11 "4th of July". It is my first pair of Lebron 11s and I really fell in love with the detail of the shoe. It has rope style red laces with the Lebron James monogram on the aglet. It's a very comfortable shoe with a mesh upper and a Foamposite like material encompassing the midsole. It runs a classic red white and blue color way with a gummy outsole. It's my favorite color way of the Lebron 11 thus far because I've found the color ways like "King's Pride" or "Super Hero" to be too flashy. These 11s have a very approachable look, and what better way to show some love for your country? Obviously they were a cop for me, what do you think? Check out the "on-foot" photos below and leave a comment as to what you think!

LEBRON JAMES HAS SIGNED WITH THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!! I know this news has been all over every sports station, newspaper, magazine, and blog but I'd be crazy not to acknowledge it! Being a fan of Lebron and his footwear I am personally ecstatic to see him return to Cleveland. I also attend college about 20 minutes from Quicken Loans Arena, which will be Lebron's castle for the next 5 years! ( Can you say season tickets?!?) As I just said, I am a fan of Lebron's so I'm very happy to see him come home and right the wrong he did to his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Sure there's internet memes about how Kobe never left, but can you really blame Lebron for wanting to win? Sure he had help in Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, but he was still the best player in the world during those 4 years in Miami. To some of you I'm sure Lebron in the #23 jersey is just a fond memory. Well stress no further because the king is back and he's ready to win! With the help of 2014 number one draft pick Andrew Wiggins and 2011-2012 rookie of the year Kyrie Irving the Cavaliers are likely to be the beast of the east in this upcoming season. With Carmelo Anthony still undecided the Cavs may have a good handle on eastern conference competitors. Where will Carmelo end up? Are you happy about the return of Lebron James? Drop a comment and let me know your thoughts!
